I had operations and treatment from january - april. .i am a part time chef and my boss has said the man who is my cover will be unemployed if i return as covid has desolated the catering industry . so my only option is to cover a waitress who is shielding . i am not a waitress , and am finding it terrible hard carrying heavy trays , going in and out of the dining room anything up to 100 times a day . i told him i am finding it hard but he said he thought it was easier than cooking . the waitress is back july 1 so i won't have any hours to cover so will have no money until the cover chef leaves ( if he does ) . what do i do ? if i cause trouble it would make work so difficult as i'm not up to strength to fight it . i'm so depressed i just want to give up . i can't get another job as i'm too old and not up to it
hi ,
so sorry to hear about what you have been going through. This is a not totally uncommon situation but something for which you need something of Macmillan's expert advice. As you will see here I would suggest you ring 0808 808 0000 where they might be able to help both you and your employer.
<<hugs>>
Steve
