Hi everyone. I’ve just joined hopefully to get and in time give some support if I can. I’ve just been told I have an Ependymoma at the base of my forth ventricular, swollen lymph nodes and atrophy of my pituitary gland? My Gp won’t tell me anymore at this point as my case is being discussed in MDT this week with my Neurosurgeon who I’m yet to meet.  I’ve got so many questions! Has it spread? Is it operable? What grade is it? The waiting and not knowing is driving my insane, I just want to know what I’m dealing with!!! X

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us and so sorry to hear about your diagnosis but you have found a safe place to find some support.

A cancer diagnosis brings a lot of confusion, stress and many questions but talking with people who are on the same type of journey helps a lot. The Online Community has many supportive Cancer specific Groups.

Follow the link I've created above and join the best groups that cover your cancer, then hit ‘start a discussion’ and you are ready to go.

You could then copy and paste the information from this first post into your new discussion or you can just join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

Can I also highlight our various Macmillan Support Line Services on 0808 808 00 00. This service covers Emotional Support, Practical Information. Clinical Information, Financial Support and Work Guidance mostly open 8.00 to 8.00 but check the link but you may find the service very busy at the moment.

Our Online Information and Support Section  is a good place to find information covering cancer diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers.

    All the very best.
