I have just found out I have lung cancer in my left lower lobs. It was found following a ct scan when I had a few problems after covid19. The scan got lost in system and it was a further 3 weeks before I chased it up and it was red flagged as missed.the hospital have been great and in 4 days I had results seen consultant, had lung function tests and petct scan. MDT meeting on Monday to see how to proceed. Hoping caught early but at moment everything seems unreal. Hopefully it is early enough for an operation to remove lung.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. As you say, hopefully it's been caught early and you'll find out what treatment they're proposing after the MDT on Monday.

The community is divided up into groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the lung cancer group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others with this type of cancer.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
