Hi Ladies,

I suppose I am a little in shock still really.

I work in the NHS (Community Mental Health) and we are currently working remotely from home since Coronavirus lock down. I was having post Menopausal bleeding, I was referred to the Women's Hospital as a pro-caution I thought.

Well after about 2 weeks I thought it must be fine as I would have been contacted if it was urgent, a week into working from home I was informed.

I cannot express online or discuss in detail yet but feeling a little vulnerable and nervous.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

Although not diagnosed with the same type of cancer as you, I can remember only too well that sense of shock and bewilderment I felt when told I had cancer.

The community is divided up into cancer specific groups so could I recommend that you join the cervical cancer group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who are living with this type of cancer. If you don't feel ready to post yet that's fine, you could just have a read of some of the posts there.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
