Hi all,
My husband has duodenal cancer and is being treated the same as pancreatic cancer. He has had a gastric bypass and finds eating very difficult and uncomfortable. He has also had a lot of problems with internal bleeding so has been in hospital where there is little food he can actually eat. He has lost so much weight and now he is home I am trying to at least stop the weight loss. He eats little and often but due to the bypass cant eat a lot of food groups... no meat, most veg, no bread etc
He finds the supplement drinks hard to take as they make him feel sick.
Any recommendations of types of supplements that aren't too 'thick and sickly' as he would say. or any other ideas, i am adding a bit of cream and using full fat milk with foods. He is okay with fish and eggs for protein but small amounts.
We've had no dietitian consultation.
thanks.
Hi and welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to read that your husband has duodenal cancer and that he's having trouble eating.
I can see that you've already found the pancreatic cancer group and I'm sure if you start a new post there with this question you'll find others who will be only to willing to share their experiences with you. Clicking on the link I've created will take you directly there.
You might also like to join the small bowel cancer group which has a number of people with duodenal cancer in it.
