I was diagnosed a year ago with an incurable brain tumour Had a 4 hour operation where they removed as much of the tumour as was safe. I had 6 weeks of daily radiation treatment and chemotherapy. I’m on the vulnerable list.  I would like to be tested to check if I have had Covid19 and if I’m now immune. Any advice appreciated

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that you have been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

The community is divided up into cancer specific groups so could I recommend that you join the brain tumour group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who are living with this type of cancer. There may be someone in that group who has been tested for Covid19 and who can share their experience with you.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

Macmillan also have this information about cancer and the coronavirus which you might find useful and this is a link to the government website page on getting tested.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
