Hi,  I've just signed up to the site and I'm not sure where to start. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November. I've since had a mastectomy (with reconstruction) and am halfway through chemotherapy. All advice welcome.

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us and so sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

A cancer diagnosis can bring a lot of confusion, stress and many questions but I found talking with people who were on the same type of journey helped a lot so can I direct you to our supportive Breast cancer Group.

Posting in this group will give you the opportunity to talk with people who know exactly what you are dealing with at the moment.

Follow the link I've created, join the group, then hit ‘start a discussion’ and you are ready to go.

You could then copy and paste the information from this first post into your new discussion or you can just join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

Can I also highlight our various Macmillan Support Line Services on 0808 808 00 00. This service covers Emotional Support, Practical Information. Clinical Information, Financial Support and Work Guidance mostly open 8.00 to 8.00 but check the link but you may find the service very busy at the moment.

Our Online Information and Support Section  is a good place to find information covering cancer diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers.

    All the very best.

    Hi   Rose

Warm welcome to the club no one wants to join :-/

Hope you recovered well from surgery and the chemo isn't being too harsh with you ?

There is a very active (and friendly) Breast Group here you can check out and join to get chatting with all the BC ladies - There is a regular monthly chemo club discussion, so keep an eye out for the May Chemo Club as you are halfway though your sessions it may prove helpful.

If you post a reply to any of the messages in the chemo discussion as an intro, or to ask any questions do mention which chemo treatment you are on, as there are bound to be others there on the same regime Thumbsup tone1

Hope this is of some help for now, look forward to seeing you over the fence in the breast group.

    Take Care, G n' J
