Hi I am new to this and I don't have cancer but have just been diagnosed with Barrett's esophagus and feel very anxious as I've been told that this is pre cancerous. My mum passed 2 years ago of lung cancer along with several aunties and uncles. I currently have 3 relatives that have cancer and are going through several different treatments. I have not really been told much from my GP or the specialist at all although I've had my 1st endoscopy and I'm on PPI medication I feel very unsure or aware of what is actually going on. Is anyone else going through something like this?
Hi and welcome to the community. Many of us will be familiar with the feeling of uncertainty when you are given little information. I have no knowledge of Barretts, but could I suggest you join the Gullet (oesophagus) group. There you should find others with experience of this. Click the link to get to the group and you will then be able to post your concerns there. Best wishes.
