My son has been sent home after his treatment proved to be unsuccessful and has been told there's no further treatment for him

He is on morphine and spends most of the day asleep. With the covid19 virus I can't visit. I find phone calls difficult and would like some support in what to say. He doesn't want to talk about his illness or say how he feels. He can't go out or do anything and it's limiting and seems a bit mean to say what I've been doing. I live alone and sometimes feel scared that in this time of isolation I may live to regret what I didn't do

  • Hi and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us and so sorry to hear about your sons diagnosis. This would be hard to deal with in normal time’s but during the challenges surrounding the virus everything has been made worse.

Talking with people who are on the same type of journey can help a lot so can I direct you to our very supportive Supporting someone with incurable cancer groups a benefit as you will connect with others supporting family through their cancer journey.

Posting in this group will open up your concerns to a wider group of people who know exactly what you are going through at the moment.

Follow the link I've created, join the group, then hit ‘start a discussion’ and you are ready to go.

You could then copy and paste the information from this first post into your new discussion or you can also join in with existing ‘discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

Can I also highly recommend our various Macmillan Support Line Services - you can call them free on 0808 808 00 00 This service covers Emotional Support, Practical Information. Clinical Information, Financial Support and Work Guidance mostly open 9.00 to 5.00 but check the link but you may find the service very busy at the moment.

    All the very best.
