hi, i would like to know how you get on dealing with the nhs, i am angry and frustrated with them, is this normal ?
Hi , I’m sorry to hear your angry and frustrated, I’ve had days like that myself recently!, although not with the NHS. Normally on the site it’s an opportunity for patients like me or carers, people who have been affected by cancer to share their experiences to make things easier for the poster. I’m not sure a post of examples of praise for the NHS or problems that have happened and how they have been previously dealt with, will be of help to you but I may be wrong. Sometimes it just good to get a rant out of your head.
I noticed that this was your first post, and people usually pop in here for some guidance about the site and where to post. I noticed that you mentioned unfortunately that you have been diagnosed with bowel cancer. If you problem with the NHS is something specific to that cancer I wondered if you wanted to join that group and give a few details about your problem, I am sure the group can then give you some moral support in how you are feeling.
Theres a few tips for people new to the site in the link below
Ive put a link to the bowel group below to help you get there quicker

I like browsing in the information and support sections in Macmillan and I’m wondering if the section below would help, as it covers getting a second opinion, and having trouble talking to a dr.

I hope some of this helps and that you will be feeling less angry and frustrated soon.
Hi and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us and so sorry to hear about your diagnosis.
The NHS is an amazing organisation with lots of challenges and yes it can be frustrating and I can indeed see why you can be angry.......... but for me the NHS saved my life.
You need to keep on pushing through and keep navigating the system.
A cancer diagnosis can bring a lot of confusion, stress and many many questions but talking with people who are on the same type of journey can help a lot so can I direct you to our very supportive Bowel (colon and rectum) cancer Group.
Posting in this group will open up your concerns to a wider group of people who know exactly what you are going through at the moment.
Follow the link I've created, join the group, then hit ‘start a discussion’ and you are ready to go.
You could then copy and paste the information from this first post into your new discussion or you can also join in with existing ‘discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.
Can I also highly recommend our various Macmillan Support Line Services - you can call them free on 0808 808 00 00 This service covers Emotional Support, Practical Information. Clinical Information, Financial Support and Work Guidance mostly open 9.00 to 5.00 but check the link but you may find the service very busy at the moment.
Our Online Information and Support Section is a good place to find information covering cancer diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers.
When you feel up to it, it would be useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username but my journey was rather complicated.
All the very best.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
