Hi, I had stage 2 bc with 1 more session of radiotherapy which should end treatment.

Been told 2 days ago that the chance of recurrence is too high without chemo.  My only fear in this journey was chemo which the medical team didn't think applies to me. Apart from the shock I need some tips/others experience of chemo especially living alone in an environment where no one can visit me.

Thanks in advance

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that after you thought your treatment for breast cancer was coming to an end you've been told that you need to have chemotherapy. I haven't had this but I can understand in the present climate why you'd be worried about having it.

The community is divided up into cancer specific groups so could I recommend that you join the breast cancer group as you can then ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who will understand what you're going through.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it, it would be useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Sending a supportive (((hug)))

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us and so sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

A cancer diagnosis can indeed bring a lot of confusion, stress and many many questions but talking with people who are on the same type of journey can help a lot so am I direct you to our very supportive Breast cancer group.

Posting in this group will open up your concerns to a wider group of people who know exactly what………. you are going through at the moment.

Follow the link I've created, join the group, then hit ‘start a discussion’ and you are ready to go.

You could then copy and paste the information from this first post into your new discussion or you can also join in with existing ‘discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

    All the best.
