Hey everyone, I'm Hatty, I have had acute myeloid leukemia since I was 14 and am now 25. I am currently have a round of chemo now and I don't know about you but it's lonely and scary at the moment, especially in isolation and with everything going on. How is everyone else doing?

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see folks finding us and so sorry to hear about your  AML diagnosis

A blood cancer diagnosis can bring a lot of stress, confusion and many questions but talking with people who are on the same journey can help a lot so can I highlight our very supportive Acute myeloid  leukaemia Group.

Posting in this group will open up your concerns to a wider group of people who know exactly what you are going through at the moment.

Follow the link I've created, join the group, then hit ‘start a discussion’ and you are ready to go.

You could then copy and paste the information from this first post into your new discussion or you can also join in with existing ‘discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

I have lived with another type of blood cancer for over 20 years now and I am now into my 4th week in isolation but this will pass. I think my total of a year and half in isolation after my 2 Stem Cell Transplants have me a head start.

When you feel up to it, it would be useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username but my journey was rather complicated.

    All the very best.
