Hi...Happy Easter everyone! I feel like a fake! Guilty for being upset. I was diagnosed on Thursday with Ductal cancer. I am 55 and live alone. I have had womb cancer 6 years ago and had a radical hysterical ectomy 2 weeks later. ....I  dont know how Im supposed  to feel this time ?! I have had cyst aspirations and a fibroadenoma removed in February....which is when they discovered the cancer cells. I wasnt expecting it !! Thought it was all done with! Its taken a while to be told due to self isolation. I cant get a hug and feel like everyone has their own problems , especially now. Sorry if I seem like im feelibg sorry for myself but I havent said this out loud ....Im supporting and reassuring others . It feels like its happening to someone else !! Lol I want to shout !! And obviously cant ...how is everyone else coping ? By the way Im usually the strong one xx

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with ductal cancer. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I believe this is breast cancer?

Being diagnosed with cancer in no way makes you a fake! It sounds like you've already had more than your fair share to deal with over the years and I'm sorry that you're again having to deal with it.

The community is divided up into cancer specific groups so could I recommend that you join the breast cancer group as you can then ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who will understand what you're going through.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it, it would be useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Sending a supportive (((hug)))
