Hi I need help badly I was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breasts two months ago all ready to have surgery this Tuesday but with covid19 I was told I was to high risk with other health issues. I have to start on Letrozole but the side effects will make my ongoing health issues 100 times worse . I have not seen anyone about this just a phone call I am in every dark place at the moment and any help would be appreciated Thank you
Hi and welcome to the Online community, although I am sorry to see you finding us and so sorry to hear about your diagnosis - this must have been a big shock to you and I do understand the challenges you are facing.
A cancer diagnosis can bring a lot of stress, confusion and many questions but talking with people who are on the same journey can help a lot so can I highlight our very supportive Breast cancer Group.
Posting in this group will open up your concerns to a wider group of people who know exactly what you are going through at the moment.
Follow the link I've created, join the group then introduce yourself to the group and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and you can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
Can I also highly recommend our various Macmillan Support Line Services - you can call them free on 0808 808 00 00 This service covers Emotional Support, Practical Information. Clinical Information, Financial Support and Work Guidance mostly open 8.00 to 8.00 but check the link..... but you WILL find this service very busy at the moment.
You may want to put some information in your profile as this can help a lot. Click here to see how to add details as this helps everyone to see a little about you and how best to reply to you.
((hugs)) from a distance.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer but you've come to the right place for support.
The community is divided up into cancer specific groups so could I recommend that you join the breast cancer group as you can then ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who will understand what you're going through.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you feel up to it, it would be useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Sending a supportive (((hug)))
