Good morning all. I’m sorry to have to ask this but my dad was diagnosed with terminal lung and secondary cancer last week and came home this Tuesday with palliative care. He has determined today and we are very concerned. Macmillan nurses have not had time to come out yet and they are not answering the phone at James cook hospital in Middlesbrough. Does anyone have an out of hours number or another way of getting a nurse out to look at him and see what’s going on as we don’t know what’s going on.
we had paramedics out this morning and they have checked his vitals but he has done downhill since.
Any help is much appreciated.
Hi I am so sorry to hear what is going on around your dad. In normal circumstances you would call 111 but checking the NHS website I would say you call 999
You can also call Macmillan Support Line Services free on 0808 808 00 00. for some advice....... BUT this service is VERY busy at the moment.
Thank you for any support that was offered. I am so sad to say that dad died just after I posted this. Our worries about his deterioration took a turn for the worse and within 5 minutes he went from speaking to us about his breathing Issues to taking his last breath.
thank you again
I am so so sorry to hear this news and please accept my deepest condolences.
If you do need some support then our Bereaved family and friends group is a safe place to connect with others who understand.
