Hi all last place was expecting to be been diagnosed with T3 throat cancer after having a so called throat infection to start chemo and radiotherapy in few weeks but don't know what to expect? + Properly sh**ING myself at the thought of it
Hi Polominto73
I'm recently diagnosed T2 and it was a very big shock to me. Thought I'd be off with some antibiotics for a throat infection and now here I am waiting to start Radiotherapy. I went to the hospital today where they made me a mask, ready for the Radiotherapy which will start on the 13th for 4 weeks. Can't say I'm looking forward to it but needs must.
There a a few on here who have come out the other side of treatment who may give you advice on what's to come. Good luck.

Thanks Shelly I am at the moment due to start chemo and radiotherapy for 6weeks at the moment problem I have is can't manage to keep anything down .to get mask done Monday & been told if can't keep food down need to have tube put down .the joys of cancer worst thing is the uncertainty of everything and what to expect. Good luck to you as well hope everything goes ok for you
That's not good and fitting the tube maybe for the best then, is it the nasal one? They said I may get one when I get into treatment if I can't eat which I'm having no probs doing at the mo. When you go for your mask done they should explain everything to you and give you a start date for treatment. I believe the Radiotherapy is not for for long and mine says 15 minutes a day.
Shelly
