Hi Reet71 and welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to hear that after recovering from liver cancer your father-in-law now has prostate cancer.
The community is divided up into specific groups where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support. Could I recommend that you join the prostate cancer and carers groups as this will enable you to talk to others in a similar position to yourself.
To join either or both of these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the pages that open. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
In normal circumstances I would also suggest that you post your question in the ‘Ask a Nurse’ session for one of the Cancer Information Nurses to answer. Unfortunately, due to the number of questions being asked about Coronavirus, and the increase in demand on their services, the ‘Ask a Nurse’ session is currently closed.
However Macmillan have a page dedicated to Coronavirus and cancer where you can look for information and support. If you click here you will also find the most up to date information from the NHS advice page.
If you feel it’s important to speak to a nurse over the phone, the Macmillan Support Line is open Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. Cancer Information Nurses, as well as other support professionals, will answer your calls and listen to your concerns. You can call the Support Line free on 0808 808 0000.
When you have a minute it would be useful if could pop something about your father-in-law's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi Reet71 and welcome to the Community.
This is all very confusing times and the following information may well be out of date.
This Information from the government is all encompassing and is a good guide what to look out for and what you should or should not do and Macmillan have also provided some information and answered some key questions around cancer and coronavirus (COVID-19).
This is also on the Government information "If you're at high risk, you will be contacted by the NHS by Sunday 29 March 2020. Do not contact your GP or healthcare team at this stage – wait to be contacted."
Do check where he fits in the recommendations but as he is in(between) cancer treatment would suggest that more stringent measures need to be followed keep yourself and others safe. For now, you should rigorously follow the social distancing advice in full.
People falling into this group are those who may be at particular risk due to complex health problems such as:
You may also find our Carers only and Family and friends groups a benefit as you will connect with others supporting family through their cancer journey.
Posting in this groups will open up your concerns to a wider group of people who know exactly what you are going through at the moment.
Follow the links I've created, join the group then introduce yourself to the group and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and you can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
Not much help for you - sorry..... but this virus can not be underestimated.
((hugs)) from a far.
