Hi there.
I have a history of family cancer (breast and bowel) I also have a defect in chromosome 14.
I went to the doctors (Nanna’s orders as she was my age when she was first diagnosed) with sticky clear discharge out of one breast, sudden weight gain which I can’t explain, a change to a mole, and tenderness on the leaking breast. The doctor did not examine me. He gave me a family genetics question sheet to fill out which I did. And referred me to the genetics clinic. He didn’t take my symptoms into consideration just my family’s history. I am worried out of my mind and there’s an at least 18 week waiting list. Is there anything I can do to push a test on myself? I don’t see how a genetics clinic will help when I have physical symptoms. Thank you.
