Hi, I'm a mum of 2 and wife apart from the certificate, I've recently had bleeding between periods and after sex both symptoms of cervical cancer. I'm awaiting tests for this but at the moment I am really struggling.
I suffer with sever depression anyway and this is stopping me going for the tests needed, I a way I'd rather not know but also the not knowing is making me a wreck. I'm finding it very hard to be around my daughter who is only 10 because I cant help but cry yet dont want her to know anything and worry too.
My partner is also in denial which doesn't really help me. A friend who is currently undergoing treatment for throat cancer advised me to join to just try and get a bit of support to help with how I'm feeling, any help or advise anybody can give to help me cope with this will be gladly received.
Hi Cath and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read how difficult you're finding coping with tests to find out what is causing your bleeding but glad that your friend has suggested you join us for support.
The community is divided up into groups so can I suggest that you join the cervical cancer group. This isn't because I think you have cancer but because it'll give you the opportunity of speaking to others who will understand what you're going through.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
Sending a very big ((((hug))))
Hi Phoebe's Mum I can also recommend the Jo's cervical cancer trust website for support specifically for cervical cancer screening/tests/diagnoses. MacMillan also has information pages on support with your family.
I wish you all the best
Hi again waiting for tests & test results is very stressful & I think everyone on this website understands that. There is an emotional support section in here which you will probably find very useful
Take care
