Hello just dipping my toe in the water to see what is here. I have had 6 cycles of chemo and was then put on immunotherapy. Had a great response to the chemo but last scan shows immuno is not working. Started more chemo last Wednesday but different drugs this time.

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us and indeed this is a good place to dip your toe into.

A cancer diagnosis can bring a lot of stress, confusion and many questions but talking with people who are on the same journey can help a lot. This site is organised into various support groups so we do have lots of groups that are Cancer specific  and also ones that are general Cancer experience groups.Posting in this group will open up your concerns to a wider group of people who know exactly what you are going through at the moment.

Follow the links I've created, have a look around and when you find some groups you can connect into join the group then introduce yourself to the group and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and you can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

Can I also highly recommend our various Macmillan Support Line Services - you can call them free on 0808 808 00 00 This service covers Emotional Support, Practical Information. Clinical Information, Financial Support and Work Guidance mostly open 8.00 to 8.00 but check the link and you may also find our Ask an Expert section helpful.

Our Online Information and Support Section  is a good place to find information covering cancer diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers.

Talking to people face to face can help a lot so check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area or a Maggie’s Centre as these folks are amazing.

You may want to put some information in your profile as this can help a lot. Click here to see how to add details as this helps everyone to see a little about you and how best to reply to you.

    All the very best.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that your immunotherapy treatment isn't working but this is a great place to come to share experiences and get support.

The community is divided into cancer specific groups where you'll find others with a similar diagnosis to your own. If you feel able to tell me a little about what type of cancer you're being treated for then I could point you in the right direction. If you'd rather not then click here and choose which group is appropriate for you.

When you have a minute it would be useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
