Hi and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us and so sorry to hear about our diagnosis - this must have been a big shock to you and as you see brings lots of challenges.
A cancer diagnosis can bring a lot of stress, confusion and many questions but talking with people who are on the same journey can help a lot so can I first highlight our very supportive Breast cancer group.
Posting in this group will open up your concerns to a wider group of people who know exactly what you are going through at the moment.
Just follow the link above then hit join the group and introduce yourself to the group or post some questions by selecting 'start a discussion'.
Can I also highly recommend our various Macmillan Support Line Services - you can call them free on 0808 808 00 00 This service covers Emotional Support, Practical Information. Clinical Information, Financial Support and Work Guidance mostly open 8.00 to 8.00 but check the link and you may also find our Ask an Expert section helpful.
Talking to people face to face can help a lot so check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area or a Maggie’s Centre as these folks are amazing.
It would be really useful if you could put some information in your profile as this will help others when replying to you.
Just click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile' under the Profile Settings. If you're not sure what sort of thing to put just click on our forum names to get an idea.
All the very best.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to read that you've just been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. It must be an incredibly hard time for you at the moment but you've come to the right place to ask questions and get support.
The community is divided up into cancer specific groups so could I suggest that you join the secondary breast cancer group where you'll find people who understand exactly what you're going through right now.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you feel up to it, it would be useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
