Up until 4 weeks ago my mum was totally independent and had no cognitive impairments. 4 weeks ago she was admitted to hospital and cutting a long story short is now totally confused and agitated and immobile. The doctors diagnosed a brain lesion. They tried high dose steroids but she has got worse and is now on end of life care. Everything is happening so fast. I have my own issues with depression and anxiety which have been stable but i can feel them going out of control. I am dealing with the emotions of coming to terms with mums diagnosis and dealing with all the practical things on my own and it has affected me more than i thought it was. I have so many questions and just don't know where to turn. Lots of my friends are offering to help but not in the way i need and i'm too polite to explain that so am backing away which is what i do when my depression hits. I feel lost.

Thinking of you and your mum at this tough time. My dad was diagnosed with lung and liver cancer 6 weeks ago, sadly due to the aggressive nature he passed away on Friday. I understand what it’s like to feel lost and trying to deal with things on your own and backing away (I’ve started hiding away from my partner as I can’t face being with people at the moment). Stay strong for you and your mum. Make sure you take some time for you to digest things xx
