Hi,
Does anyone know how you go about getting the gym membership for 3 months after treatment?
Thanks
Hi and welcome to the online community
Is the gym membership that you want to take out something that's provided by your hospital or is it something that you've been told that Macmillan provide?
x
Hi , I felt getting more active was important for me so while on treatment I got the move more pack from Macmillan which had a dvd of exercises, and then in my area there are health walks I joined in. Through my local cancer support group I found a cancer rehab gym programme that I could go to locally that was on a reduced pay as you go system. Referral through a dr wasn’t required when I went to sessions a few years back, but a new leaflet I’ve seen for my local gym says a dr needs to refer you, it’s not a Macmillan thing there. On the Macmillan site the is an in my area button where you put your post code in and it says what things are available from Macmillan eg support groups, information centres, move more schemes at gyms. The following link might help you

If you want any help joining a particular group or completing your profile just pop back and click reply, I hope you find something that helps it was a good start for me.
Take care KT
