Apologies if this has been asked before but am new to this!
We are considering booking a family holiday in July/August but my dad has recently been diagnosed with stomach cancer. Can anyone suggest an insurance company that would cover cancellation or ending a holiday early due to him becoming seriously ill or even worse?
Everyone I look at will cover if it is someone in the party but can't find any that cover for a close family member!

I'm sorry to hear that your dad has recently been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
You could join the travel insurance group to see if anyone can make any recommendations on there. I do know that a couple of people recently have been looking for the same cover as you without success 
. As you have said travel insurance usually only covers the people who are travelling.
