I was diagnosed with lung cancer back in November and was planning to spend Christmas in the Brompton having the top lobe of my left lung removed. On the 17th I had mediastinal lymph nodes removed and a bronchoscope, unfortunately I got the results on the 18th that cancer was found in 2 of the lymph nodes removed, so the lung section was cancelled as it wouldn’t have been curative. I’ve finally got an appointment with the oncologist tomorrow, it feels like I have been waiting forever and now I’m so not looking forward to it.
Hi sorry you have received the diagnosis, never good to hear at any time of year...
Have you been told the actual type of Lung Cancer you have? So much of your treatment plan will depend on this
We might be able to help more once we know and there is a Lung Cancer Group on this site which will will give you lots of information once you know
I’m hoping to get all the info tomorrow, when I went into hospital the results of the biopsy weren’t back, they did this as I have had a previous breast cancer, whilst in hospital they confirmed it as lung cancer but I didn’t get the opportunity as weren’t in the right frame of mind to ask questions ️

Hi
That a hell of a way to start the new year. I’m so sorry.
If I understand right, it’s a new primary? In which case the folks over in the lung cancer group will be able to help with your questions around treatment once you have a plan. You can join it here:

From what you say, the cancer may not be curable. If that’s the case, there’s a really supportive group for people living with incurable cancer. You’d be made very welcome if this is the right place for you. You’ll find people who’ve had to face this kind of situation and will know what you’re going through.

I hope your meeting goes well and that you come away with a clear idea of what’s next
