Hi and welcome to the online community
I'm really sorry to hear that your mum has just passed away and that you have also recently lost your cat. This must be a really hard time for you so I can understand your need to reach out to this community when you've been referred to see a dermatologist.
I can see from your recent activity that you have found and joined the skin cancer group and I know that if you post there you will find lots of people who will understand what you're going through.
Please don't be terrified though that you may have a basal cell carcinoma (BCC). They are the most common form of skin cancer and are usually slow growing, very rarely spread and usually easily treated.
I'll keep an eye out for you in the skin cancer group.
