Should I take anti sickness drugs before I start my first session or should I wait to find out if it is going to make me sick?
Hi wildswimmer
In my experience the chemo nurses will give you antisickness tablets when you are about to start your chemotherapy. Maybe a good idea to take yours with you when you go, if they have already given you some.
I know it feels like you are supposed to understand the process, but no question is silly - always ask. Good luck with the start of your treatment.
Big hugs
Hi
It is far easier to prevent sickness than try to get on top of it after the event, so yes commonly most take the pre-chemo meds (anti nausea and any steroids) either the day before or on the morning. Can you remember anything of what they advised you ?
I assume you were given some to bring home at the assessment appt, some offer these on the day.
Sorry for asking but what tablets were you given and what is your chemo for ? As some are worse for feeling nauseous than others.
BTW; There are groups here for just about every cancer type. It would help to join one specific to you, the help, support and advice from others in the same boat is great
Hope the chemo is kind to you, G n' J
