Hi everyone,

My mom got a diagnosis of Non-small-cell lung carcinoma 4th stage. The EGFR mutation is found and the treatment plan is the following: Tagrisso (osimertinib) + Chemo (carboplatin and pemetrexed). We start in one week. Does anyone has had the same treatment? Can you share your experience to cope with the side effects?

Thank you in Advance!

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm really sorry to hear about your mom's recent diagnosis. It must be a very difficult time for you both.

Could I suggest that you join and post your question in the lung cancer group where you'll benefit from the experiences of others with this type of cancer.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then post your question after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

You might also like to join the family and friends group where you can share your feelings and get support from others who will understand what you're going through.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your mom's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
