I have just had my second surgery for thyroid cancer as the first op didn't get it all so had to have surgery again a week ago and I will get the results this Friday. I lost nearly all my hearing after this op and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this as my Consultant has said it is not connected.
Hi Vivienne Sally and a very warm welcome to the online community
Losing nearly all your hearing after having your recent operation must be very distressing for you.
I see that you have found and joined the thyroid cancer group and I'm sure if you post your question in that group the members there will be willing to share their experiences with you. Clicking on the link I've created will take you directly to the group where you can introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
