Welcome to the online community, we are always sorry to have new people join us but it looks like you come to us with good news and a brand new ileostomy pouch which I hope you are managing to cope with well.
The following is taken from NHS FAQs on Bowel Screening.
Should I use the home testing kit if I've had bowel surgery?
You should consider being screened as long as you have a working bowel.
Screening isn't helpful only if:
If you've had bowel surgery and you're not sure if screening is suitable for you, check with your GP or call the free bowel cancer screening helpline on 0800 707 60 60.
Can everybody have bowel scope screening at 55?
Some health problems mean that it might not be possible for you to have bowel scope screening. Call the bowel cancer screening helpline on 0800 707 60 60 if you:
It looks like the answer is NO but as the above mentions it might be safer to phone the helpline 0800 797 60 60 for their advice.
I see that you've not joined any groups yet and I would like to invite you to join the following
Bowel (colon and rectal) cancer forum group
Ileostomy, colostomy, urostomy and any other stoma support group
And introduce yourself to the very friendly members who will be willing to answer any questions you may have.
In the stoma support group we can help with all aspects of stoma management and product selection to get the best from your stoma.
I hope that The BODACH has been of help to you and would like to ask you to keep in touch and update us on your progress and especially what advice you received from the Bowel Screening helpline.
Give me a shout out if you have any other questions I'm here to help you at all times even if you think your question is too small to answer or you think it may sound silly ask it anyway, there's a reason for every question and an answer to every question.

Hi Mary and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with anal cancer but you've come to the right place to share experiences and get support. Could I suggest that you join the very supportive anal cancer group where you can chat to others who will understand exactly what you're going through.
I can see from your profile that you're a dog lover so you might like to join the animals are family too group as well.
To join either or both of these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the pages that open. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
