My Husband has been diagnosed with a Brain tumor Gilo Blastoma and has been given months to live.  We are 10 months in and he is now deteriorating fast.  I feel so helpless but then I have thoughts on how cruel this disease is and why is he suffering like this. Any pointers on what I can do to help. We are taking every day and making memories where we can but I am starting to find it increasingly difficult.

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to find us.

Feeling helpless when a loved one has cancer is a very common feeling and I hope that talking to others who understand will help you. Could I suggest a couple of groups for you to join so that you can do this. The first is the glioblastoma multiforme brain tumour group, where you can ask questions about treatment, etc, and the second is the carers group, which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your worries and emotions.

To join either or both of these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the pages that open. You can then introduce yourself or post a question after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your husband's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
