hi, I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m having a mastectomy and no one will give me date, I was told today provisionally the 25th October! I was diagnosed 9th September. I am not eating or sleeping and am suffering with panic attacks and anxiety. When I do sleep I have nightmares about surgery. I feel something should be done now but sit waiting for this to spread. Any help appreciated. Xx

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Waiting for appointment dates is always extremely stressful but talking to others can be a way to help.

I notice from your activity that you have joined the breast cancer group and I'm sure if you post your worries over there you will find that plenty of people will come forward to share their experiences with you.

Clicking on the link I've created will take you there and you can then introduce yourself or post a question after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
