hi

I went to my doctor just over a week ago because I had a night of light vaginal bleeding. I’m post menopausal and this has never happened before. Had a transvaginal ultrasound yesterday and was told that my womb lining was thick on one side so now I have to have a hysteroscopy within the next 2 weeks . I bled all day yesterday after the ultrasound. I was getting on and off lower back pain but now there’s a constant dull ache . I did have a blood test for ovarian cancer a couple of weeks ago which came back clear. I’ve never been in this situation before and I’m googling my symptoms all the time and im totally freaked out by all of this . I guess I just want to know if these are the symptoms that others have had and what was the outcome of their tests ? Sorry if I am being stupid in asking this question

    Hi

Warm welcome to the club no one wants to join :-/

Sorry to read you are going through the barrage of checks to hopefully rule cancer out. There are a lot of areas within the pelvic region that can be affected so they have got you playing the elimination game which can seem to drag on a while. Meanwhile your stress levels at this emotionally tough time can get to you.

You are right to try and steer clear of Dr Google a lot of the data 'out there' is either way out of date or worryingly misleading and you rarely read the many 'good' stories.

There is a very active (and friendly) Womb Group here (link) you should check out to get support and initial questions answered by those who have been where you are now. If you click the 'Join This Group' button under the title you will be able to start a discussion copying your text above - It won't be too long before you get some replies.

Fingers crossed this will be a short stay and another reason for your symptoms is found.

Take care and good luck with your hysteroscopy results, G n' J
