Hi Everyone
Here is my little Story.
I Thought i had Piles (hemorrhoids) a little blood when i wiped. one day there was a lot of blood. So went to the Doctor he said one of the hemorrhoids had exploded. but dont worry the bleeding would subside.
A week later still bleeding, so i went back and he booked me in for a colonoscopy. 2 weeks later that's when i was told i have Colon cancer.
Again 2 weeks after that, I was in hospital for more tests. I received the results Monday, I have very aggressive stage 3 Colon Cancer that has Spread to my anus, and they have found dots on my Liver. So Friday 28/9. I am having another MRI to see if i have secondary cancer there.
They are talking about having Radiotherapy for about 6 weeks then resting for 6 weeks then op to remove part of the colon and fit a bag then maybe Chemotherapy.
I have asked about the life expectancy for this but everyone skirts over it and just talks about the treatment.
Hi an a very warm welcome to the online community although I'm sorry that you've had to find us.
I see that you have already found and joined the bowel cancer group and I'm sure if you post over there you'll get lots of help and support. Clicking on the link I've provided will take you back there and, to save you typing this post out again, just copy and paste it after selecting 'start a discussion'.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi John
I'd like to extend my welcome to the online community, I've just popped in from the Bowel (colon and rectal) cancer forum Group and I'm pleased that you've managed to find your way there, we are all very friendly and give a tremendous amount of support to each other and I'm sure that any questions that you will have will be answered by my many knowledgeable friends in the group, our motto is "there is no such thing as stupid or daft question, only the one never asked!" so no matter what you want to ask, come into the bowel group and ask it.
I have found this for you, but you may want to delay reading it until you get the results of the MRI and all the medics (MDT) get together and discuss your treatment plan when they will have a better idea of the way forward.

If you do end up with a colostomy bag, which is nothing to worry about, you should think about joining us over in the Ileostomy, colostomy, urostomy and any other stoma support group where we will be able to support you with your stoma management.
I look forward to welcoming into the two groups above when you are ready, but in the meantime have a look at the current discussions to see what we are discussing.
I'm sure that your question to (Missing Group) group page will be answered very shortly by Sanjaya.
Ian
