    Hi

    Welcome to the online community.

Changing your dad to a new GP in Bristol should be relatively easy and I assume you would like him to go to the same surgery as you.

This may help you arrange the transfer

    Changing GP

Depending on how your dads current GP hold his records should be easy to transfer over if they are stored electronically  if they are paper records they would be sent by a NHS courier and that could take about 2 weeks.

Once registered the new GP will make arrangements for dad to see specialists at the local hospital.

If you care to let us know what type of cancer your dad has been diagnosed with we can settle you into one of our groups that have been set up for his particular type of cancer

In the meantime you might find the following groups of interest where you will meet friendly people who can give you help and advice, no matter which of our groups you join to amongst people who excel at being supportive towards each other.

    Carers only forum

    Family and friends forum

If I can be of any further help please give me a shout and I'll be there to help.

    Hi

Thanks for coming back to back to me with your dads condition, I'm not surprised that you nothing about it as it's a rare form of bone cancer. Macmillans have produced a leaflet which you can view here Chondrosarcoma.

You may want to join our Bone cancer forum group and you can join this group by clicking on the green text here and when the new page click on join this group then you're set to go to ask questions of the members or join in discussions. But that's not all you can ask question in our Ask a Nurse page.
