Hi ,

I'm  new to the on line community . I was diagnosed with  inoperable  colon cancer with lung Mets, just under a year ago . I've had 2 lots of chemo,  inotecan  and oxalipltin , neither of  which helped , except  to make me quite  ill . I've been  offered  lonsurf, as a 3rd line treatment, and wondered if  anyone has any advice about  it . I'm starting to lose hope in ever getting this horrible to be stable, so that I can have some form of life again.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to find us.

I can quite understand why you feel that you want to get some form of life back again. The best thing to do is to chat to others who are facing the same types of cancer and treatments as yourself so that you can benefit from their experiences and support.

With this in mind could I recommend a couple of groups for you to join. The first is the bowel cancer group and the other is the secondary lung cancer group.

To join these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the pages that open. You can then introduce yourself or post a question after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
