Hi everyone just been diagnosed with rectal cancer 2 months ago with large tumour, had colostomy bag put in and just finished my first cycle of chemo, not much side effects apart from being a little tired than usual, got 3 months chemo then 5 weeks radiotherapy, then hopefully clear margin for surgery, any one going through same situation any advice would be greatfull
Hello , welcome to the online community, I see that while I’ve been asleep you’ve done your profile, joined the bowel group and posted in there, so it looks like you perhaps don’t need any help finding your way around the site, well done you. I have a different cancer to you so haven’t had chemo or radiotherapy but I’m sure you will get some great support from the group you’ve joined.

Thanks ktathome for reply will defo look into that link u put on thanks, hope your keeping well yourself, this is all abit new to me, just taking it day at a time, got good family support and I'm positive I'll beat this, think that's half the battle, this site is a great help tho, hope u have a good day Joe
I am well thank you Joe, I’m no measurable disease, but currently on a treatment to help things stay that way until March, I am a firm believer in thinking positively is a good approach but that inevitably the odd wobble will happen, acknowledge the wobble it’s then easier to move on from it.
Glad you’ve got good support around you and that this site can be of use to.
I'm glad your well and hope things stay that way for you,. Yeah had a few bad days thinking why me especially at this age, just taking day at a time now and hopefully treatment goes to plan, thanks for taking time to reply much appreciated
