Hi guys.
Today i found out me dad has cancer. He has been unwell for about 3 weeks, he shrugged off going to the docs saying its just a virus. He was primarily being treated for thrush in the throat but today my world was torn apart. I am posting on here for any and all support i can get, i am 31 and 2 years ago lost my younger sister to adult cot death, myself my mum and my dad have just started to rebuild and get things moving again and now this. I cant put into words right now how i feel. I know there are lots of people in similar situations and i have for a long time supported McMillan i a hope of never needing it but here i am. Any help will be greatly revived.
Kind regards.
Carl
Hi and welcome to the community, although sorry to hear the reason you find yourself here. I also lost a younger sister suddenly this year and so have an idea how you are feeling. Now this with your dad brings extra emotions. We know that cancer does not just affect the person involved, but has far reaching effects on loved ones. We have a group here you may find helpful to join, Family and Friends . there you will get help and support from others with loved ones going through cancer. You suggest that your dad's problem is in his neck, and so another group you may like to look at is the Head and Neck group. The members there should be able to help with what treatment your dad may have. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
