hi, I was first diagnosed with Bladder cancer in November 2015, following ultrasound and biopsy of a grade 3 pT2 transitional cell carcinoma. TURBT followed by Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and BCG got it all. However a CIS was detected in March 2016. An op to remove the CIS and more BCG took place which I reacted badly to.
Im pleased to report I am now in remission and a recent cysto was clear.
my issue is one of mental health. The anxiety I feel is sometimes overwhelming. I can not shake the feeling I am going to die. I suffered PTSD after the Falklands war which after decades began to ease, only to get cancer and put me mentally back thirty odd years.
what help is out there for me?
kind Regards

Hi Avalon,
Welcome to the forum although I am really sorry to read about how you are doing.
I would definitely mention this to the team who is responsible for your cancer treatment. They can refer you to clinical psychotherapy pretty quickly - I was seen later the same day but I was not in a great state and an in-patient, so perhaps it was easier.
Failing that, you could try your GP, or other services such as Penny Brohn, they have some exceptional counselors as well.
I’m really hoping you can get access to something soon.
Greg
