hello there anyone ,

I’m new to online things never mind cancer ....only last week I was diagnosed with high grade non Hodgkin’s lymphoma ...unfortunately I need another biopsy tomorrow to determine exactly what type it is , ( the earlier sample wasn’t big enough ) ....the consultant says it’s at least stage 2 ....have to have pep scan to see if it’s elsewhere ......I’m on my own with 3 young children and to be honest I’m so scared ....I would love to talk to anyone really ...and if anyone is in the same lymphoma boat even better to make a friend ...

thank you

  • Hi  and a second welcome to the Online Community. I am Mike  and I help out in our Lymphoma Forums.

We actually have a few NHL Forums where you can post but it’s worth starting in the General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma Forum until you are told what type of the 60+ Lymphomas you have.

It is very important that your team get accurate information as with this they will put the best treatment in place.

The stage number is only used to direct the type and number of treatments. Blood cancers are not like other cancers where the higher the stage the worse things are - I was diagnosed in 1999 stage 4a2 and am still around doing very well, so be encouraged.

It will take time to get a clear diagnosis - it’s just how things work but once you start treatment it is very effective. Some treatments can be strong but until you have all the information best not Jim to conclusions.

Follow the link above and join the group by hitting the ‘Join the Group’ tab just under the main group name and it is worth indicating how you want to receive email notifications when someone answers your posts.

Go to the 'Start a Discussion' tab just under the main group name and set up your own Discussion and introduce yourself to the group - you could just copy an paste what you have in this first post.

I will keep an eye open for you.
