Hi guys,

I was diagnosed last year with prostate cancer, and went on active surveillance. Things have moved a bit and have now started hormone therapy, one week of tablets left and had first injection nearly a month ago.

The only side effect I’ve had is total fatigue, feeling totally washed out. No other side effects at all, but I’m really struggling feeling so washed out. Is there anything you can suggest that might alleviate these feelings. I am waiting to go in for a ‘rebore’ Op in the near future. But I’m not sleeping very well and as I’ve said I feel so tired most of the day.

  • Hi and welcome to the community. Here you should get help, advice and support from others who know what you are experiencing. I am not familiar with your particular treatment, but know one thing common to most treatments is the fatigue. Always difficult to know how to deal with it, but gentle exercise is recommended, even if you don't feel like it. Also important to make sure you keep well hydrated. I notice you have found the Prostate group. If you start a new discussion there and introduce yourself, the members of the group who have had this treatment should be able to offer some advice. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

    Hi PaulaIan,

I'm sorry to hear of your diagnosis and your tiredness.

My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer 6 years ago and has been having the hormone injections throughout. Unfortunately he too has been suffering with total fatigue and feeling washed out. This is exactly what the hormone injections do unfortunately.

I hope you find something to help you x
