Having started to lose a small amount of hair over the last few days, today it’s falling out in larger chunks and I had a section all matted together. It was such a shock I just sobbed...my lovely husband sat and combed it all through and now I have VERY thin area on my crown and my scalp is very tender
I used the cold cap for my first treatment and I’m due to have my second treatment on Tuesday but now I don’t know if it’s worth using it again or whether it will just continue to fall out now it’s started
I’d really appreciate any advice ...I have the wig lady on standby but feel so miserable today now ..
thank you x
Hi
I'm sorry to hear that your hair has started to fall out after your first treatment. Although I haven't been through this I can fully understand how upsetting this must be for you.
Could I suggest that you pop this post in the breast cancer group which I see you joined and posted in a few weeks ago. I'm sure there will be plenty of people in that group who can tell you of their experiences.

Hi
I am so sorry to hear you’re losing your hair - and that you feel so downhearted about it.
I think latchbrook is right - you’ll get lots of good advice in the breast cancer group.
I’ve been through lots of hair trauma during five years of cancer treatment. I lost it all the first time round in 2014 abc it grew back strong and curly. Then it went straight in 2017; thinned dramatically in 2018 and most of it came out earlier this year I’m regrowing it again now and sporting a fetching pixie look currently.
My advice to you right now is to get the clippers out and get a wig. But also look into headscarves. I didn’t ever wear my wig but I got right good at tying African style headscarves I find them more comfortable.
Look on this as a time to try out new looks. There’s some great help out there from make up artists and charities such as Look Good, Feel Better.

I do know how hard this is but you might as well make a virtue out of a necessity. It’s so much better than the alternative.
Love and hugs xxx
