Hi not really sure where to start but my husband is going through a rough time at the moment he's been unwell since December last year when he was discovered to have a growth on his lung but tests have not shown up anything more tests coming up cut long story short since then he has had to have his colon removed as his bowel ruptured and he had stents put in his blabber as he had a blockage at the time he had his colon removed he also had a turbt but 5 weeks later we are since waiting to find out if it cancer or not and no one seems to want to tell us what's going on no consultant from urology has been in touch with us not even after the operation just the colon doctors just wondering if anyone else has had this as we are confused as I believe a turbt is a removal of a blabber tumor

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the community though really sorry to hear what you have both been going through.

I found this page on the guysandthomas website and on the 2nd page it says

A transurethral resection of a bladder tumour or TURBT is a treatment for bladder tumours. The tumour or tumours are cut away from the bladder wall, removed and then sent for examination. From this, your consultant will be able to find out whether the tumour cells are cancerous and, if hey are, the grade and stage the cancer has reached. This information can then be used to elp decide any future treatment needed.

So fingers crossed the tumour could be non cancerous. Do check with his GP to see if they can chase the results and see what happens next.

    <<hugs>>
