Hello. I had my first round of R-CVP yesterday and i feel fine. How long have people left it to go out my daughter is playing sport on Sunday in a leisure centre and it will be busy. Do you think it is too soon to go. Thank you.

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us.

I am making a wild assumption that as you are receiving R-CVP treatment you have a type of Lymphoma?

We have a number of dedicated Lymphoma Forums where you can connect with folks who are on or have been on the same journey as you.

Check these links below, follow the best link for your type of Lymphoma and join the group by hitting the ‘Join the Group’ tab just under the main group name and it is worth indicating how you want to receive email notifications when someone answers your posts.

Go to the 'Start a Discussion' tab just under the main group name and set up your own Discussion and introduce yourself to the group.

    General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma

    Follicular Lymphoma

    Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

    Mantel Cell Lymphoma

    T-Cell Lymphoma

Now your question. As this is your first treatment you will most likely not be effected by the build up of fatigue yet. I have been through Lymphoma treatment and the main thing at this early stage is to look out for us catching infections.

Going into a crowed of people that you don't know can be a risk as you immune system will have been knocked back by the chemo and takes time to recover so you may well be open to any simple little infection that is going around.

If you go, you do need to be very carful as you body will not fight an infection as well as when you were not in treatment.

When you feel up to it try putting some information in your profile. This really helps others when answering. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. Just click on YOUR username, select 'Edit Profile'. Put as much or as little in your profile and you can amend it at any time - you can see members profiles by hitting our forum names.

I will keep an eye open for you on the Lymphoma Forums.
