Hi , mum was diagnosed with cancer, she's had the cancer removed and we thought the next step was tablets and radiotherapy however the results are back and she now has to have chemo too which has knocked her a bit.
I suppose I just want to know what to expect and what I can do to make it better for her.
Hi and welcome to the community, although sorry to hear about your mum. Good to know you have come here to support her. There are many different forms of chemo, so it would be difficult for anyone to let you know what to expect. The common factor in most chemo regimens is extreme fatigue, and so mum will need help with practical things around the house. If you could let us know what type of cancer mum is being treated for, we can point you to a group where people will have experience of it and will be able to offer more specific support and advice. Best wishes.
Hi again . Thanks for getting back. Could I point you to the friendly and very supportive Breast Group . If you post in that group, the members with experience in the treatment will be able to offer some advice. Click the highlighted link to get to the group. Once you join the group, you will be able to start a new discussion with your questions. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
