Hi all,
Recently diagnosed with Serimona in my chest (usually it's in the testicles).
With a tumour near my lungs and secondary cancer in both the lymph nodes in my chest and in the Pericardum (membrane around the heart).
Due to start my first cycle of Chemotherapy this week and understandably anxious; very much a fear of the unknown.
Hello Colmanskid and welcome to the online community. I'm sorry you have to join it under such circumstances.
I appreciate how anxious you must be feeling about your situatiion, it is a leap into the unknown.
I believe you will find the information and support you need in this community and from Macmillan generally.
It is my role, if I can, to pass you on to a particular group in the community that's appropriate to your diagnosis.
I confess however, that I am struggling in your case as I have never heard of Serinoma and can find no mention of it anywhere.
If you could check that you have spelled it correctly and let me know then I should be able to point you in the right direction.
Hi and a second welcome to the online community
It's perfectly normal to be anxious about the prospect of having chemotherapy. This is not something that I've had but you could post any questions you have about the treatment in the chemotherapy group, which I see you've joined, or in ask a nurse and one of the specialist cancer nurses will respond within two working days. Up until 1am today (Tuesday) there is a live question and answer session in ask a nurse focusing on people who have been newly diagnosed.
Unfortunately, I don't think that there's a specific cancer group for seminoma cancer in the chest but you could join and post in the other cancers group.
To join this group just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then post a question or introduce yourself after selecting 'start a discussion' and respond to existing posts by clicking on 'reply'.
I'm glad to see that you've found the secondary lymph node cancer group where you can ask questions and get support from others who will understand what you're facing.
When you feel ready it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
