Hi
Just starting to accept but still struggling, hopefully by next Thursday when I sit with the MDT team and my Surgeon can move forward.
Hae a Pet Scan on Tuesday and that will complete the staging.
Had a really bad runny nose and nosebleeds for around a year, saw different Doctors at my local surgery and this was put down to high blood pressure.
Anyway in June thought I was having a stroke of sorts and took myself off to the local hospital.
Was in for 4 days and they were great, just as I was ready to go home 4.30 on Friday afternoon I was told they they wanted to do another CT scan.
Had the scan then was taken to see a consultant in ENT, really nice lady and put tube up both nostrils, after few minutes said would like you to have an endoscopy, so 3 days later go and have day surgery it was called a debunking procedure and to send off a biopsy.
Same as everyone I guess had to wait couple of weeks for results, had a follow up booked for July 12th but received a call asking me to come in on July 8th, so went to meeting, I think I new something was wrong when also introduced to clinical nurse.
Anyway Surgeon started to explain that I had nasopharyngeal carcinoma with adenoid, so really 2 different types or so he explained, he was really good about this and at one stage felt more sorry for him.
Sorry for long post and feel lot better for writing this, the waiting to be honest is not to clever but family being really good, age I think is not to clever an 57 but feel quite fit so see how it all goes
Many thanks
