I have breast cancer and I been diagnosed for diabetes and I read that if you have breast cancer and you have diabetes you have to die
Hello , and welcome to the online community, I’m sorry that you seem troubled with difficult thoughts this late at night. I’m wondering where you have been googling for that thought to cross your mind. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes when I was sent to A&E for a suspected hernia that turned out to be cancer in an enlarged node, metastatic melanoma. That was in July 2015, I am very lucky to have got my diet under control and my levels now show I am in remission from diabetes and although I’m currently still on treatment of an Immunotherapy drug every three weeks until March, my scans are currently showing no measurable cancer. I know it’s not breast cancer but perhaps you could join the Brest cancer group to hear of personal experience I will put the link in for you.

The breast cancer group even has a discussion called awake when things are troubling them and they can’t sleep, the group is very supportive.
Macmillan also do a booklet about cancer treatment and diabetes that you might be interested in https://be.macmillan.org.uk/be/p-23759-diabetes-and-cancer-treatment.aspx
There’s also information here in this link about diabetes and cancer https://www.macmillan.org.uk/information-and-support/audience/cancer-and-other-conditions/cancer-treatment-and-diabetes/diabetes-and-cancer.html#311997
It mentions that 20% of people with cancer have diabetes and that diabetes can increase the risk of getting several cancers, and it goes through what you can do to lessen the risk of getting cancer if you have diabetes like getting more active and eating a healthy diet, things I’ve been working on after my double diagnosis.
I got hold of a move more pack from Macmillan, a dvd of exercises you can do from a chair and built up how far I could walk using local health walks, and our local gym has a cancer rehab time for cancer patients. It all helped to have positive things to do and concentrate on to help me feel better and fitter after I felt so ill.

I hope things work out for you to.
Take care KT
