Hi, I was diagnosed yesterday with inflammatory breast cancer which has spread to the lympth nodes on my left side. I'm waiting for a ct scan. I'd like to speak with someone who has/had the same diagnosis. Feeling lost and alone, I need to regain my usual optimism.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community although I'm sorry that you've had to find us.

Your feelings after your diagnosis are perfectly normal. I didn't have this type of cancer but I recognise those early feelings. Hopefully you'll find that when you know what your treatment plan is you'll feel more in control and regain your usual optimism.

Can I suggest that you join the breast cancer group as this will give you the opportunity to ask questions and get support from others who will understand exactly what you're dealing with.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then post a question or introduce yourself after selecting 'start a discussion' and respond to existing posts by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
