Hi, I have just been diagnosed with lung cancer and also kidney cancer.  This has all happened very quickly and am now waiting for my first surgery ( to remove Lenny the lung) which should hopefully happen on the 15th July.

just wondered if it was normal to feel so frustrated at waiting for calls and appointments or if it’s just me wanting to rush everything x

    Hi

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I can reassure you that yes, it is completely and 100% normal to feel frustrated at the waiting. You are not alone. Lots of people say things get easier on the mind once treatment gets underway. I know that was true for me.

This community is great for sharing experiences like this and it can really help to talk to other people going through the same thing. Just knowing you’re not alone somehow helps. So welcome to the community.

It works best if you join a group of people with similar kinds of diagnosis or experience - and we have lots of them. Check out the groups tab at the top of the page. To join a group, hit the join button, then start a discussion.

I’d point you towards a couple but I’m not sure where would be best so can I ask, do you have a primary cancer in your kidney and lung? Or is that lung cancer that’s spread to the kidney? Or the other way round? I am asking because I’m not sure whether you’d be best off joining the kidney cancer group, the lung cancer group, the secondary lung cancer group or all three? If you fill in your profile with a bit of background that would be helpful. Click on your own name at the top and follow the instructions.
